How it all started...

As with many, the pandemic changed many of lives throughout the world - including my own. After residing in Prague and Brno, Czechia for nearly a decade - I returned back to USA in order to promote my newly published book - "Interview Maze". During my travels to Myrtle Beach I often encountered University J-I's working throughout the Grand Strand (Myrtle Beach, SC). Having taught ESL classes in Prague for years,..

I discovered a student of mine had actually worked as a J-I life-guard for Lack's Beach Service (Myrtle Beach, SC) during my tenure in Prague. It wasn't until 2023 where my son, Liam (American & Czech) visited for the summer, and while attending Myrtle Waves Water Park - I noticed that nearly 90% of all the lifeguards were J-I University students from the European Union. Hence - the launch of AIJI!
